TWELVE CLOSES PROJECT COMMUNITY MEETING
DATE AND TIME: TUESDAY, 15 MARCH AT 6.30PM
VENUE: OX184 (TRAINING ROOM), 184 COWGATE, EDINBURGH
This is your chance to get involved in the Twelve Closes Project!
The Old Town Development Trust is working with Edinburgh World Heritage Trust to ensure that local residents and the wider community make a valuable contribution to this exciting new project that will see the improvement of 12 of Edinburgh's historic closes over the next three years.
The closes are important pedestrian routes, and the point of the project is to transform the ones which are currently underused, neglected or unsafe.
Stevenlaw’s Close has been selected for the first phase of the project partly due to concern about the failed pigeon netting and associated problems.
The Close remains underused despite its interesting history and its direct access to the pedestrianised section of the High Street. Local knowledge and experience, and exploring the Close’s history in more depth, will play an important part in the project and will directly inform any improvements made.
Come and find out more at our first community meeting – you will be made very welcome.
