Markets were traditionally a central feature of Edinburgh life, and though they all but disappeared from the city in the second half of the 20^th century, there is resurgence of interest in markets as a way to connect food producers with food consumers with great social, economic, and potentially environmental benefits.

The aim of this project is to establish a food market in the Old Town by the summer of 2010.
